Vessel Operations & Organizational Management

Optimize fleet performance through maintenance planning, crew training & logistics, and safety management systems, drawing on over a decade in vessel operations, including the Towing Industry, Oil and Gas, Cruise Ships, High-Speed Ferries, and Offshore-Wind Farm Construction and Support.

Ensure compliance with USCG, ABS, SOLAS, DNV, CDC, and SMS standards to name a few, including Designated Person Ashore responsibilities, regulatory submissions and all around Marine Regulatory Liaison.

Develop fleet revitalization and new build programs tailored to market demands, while meeting client budgets and operational requirements.

Shipyard Project & Contract Management

Act as a liaison for vessel construction, refit, and repair projects, ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines, workflows, and specifications.

Coordinate subcontractors and trades working to implement any design modifications.

Lead maritime projects from inception to completion, adhering to Regulatory, Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Certified via Fisher Maritime in Fundamentals of Contract & Change Management for Ship Construction, Repair, & Design.

Over 20 years of project management experience, beginning at age 12 working as a general laborer in my family’s commercial shipbuilding business. By high school, I advanced to draftsman in the engineering department, honing my technical skills. Throughout my career, I’ve successfully managed and executed diverse shipyard projects, driving operational excellence and innovation

Regulatory Compliance & Audit Management

Conduct risk assessments and develop compliance plans for maritime regulations (e.g., Jones Act, OSHA, ABS, DNV, USCG, SMS, OVID, FMEA, MARPOL, DHS, MTSA), leveraging experience as a Designated Employer Representative (DER), Designated Person Ashore (DPA).

Manage and coordinate any requested regulatory audits for SOLAS, DNV, FMEA, OVID, CBP, USDA, etc... for certification & compliance.

Prepare vessels and facilities for regulatory inspections, ensuring readiness.

Contract Negotiation & Labor Relations

Assist in Negotiation of contracts with shipyards, suppliers, vendors, and labor unions.

Audit & Review current or upcoming contract renewals within my area of expertise, from an impartial perspective and provide comments or suggestions.

Foster productive labor relations to enhance workforce efficiency, including union and non-union environments.

Port & Terminal Management & Logistics

Streamline stevedoring efficiency and productivity, as well as general terminal operations for breakbulk and heavy-lift ports.

Optimize port logistics to reduce turnaround times and maximize efficiency, leveraging experience in terminal operations, cargo importation (Bonded/Unbonded), and warehousing.

Facilitate smooth operations and relationships w/ CBP, USDA, DHS, USCG, additionally ensuring any applicable "CES" compliance agreements are upheld to agent satisfaction and in accordance with MTSA standards.

Execute & Manage Cargo Loading/Discharge Operations

Handle Cargo Management & Warehousing Operations

Draft & Manage all vessel & port related interactions & paperwork (e.g., Pro-Forma's, Timekeeping, Labor, Statement of Facts, Lias w/ Agents, etc...)

Marine Insurance Program & Risk Management

Conduct risk assessments and develop compliance plans for maritime regulations (e.g., Jones Act, OSHA, ABS, DNV, USCG, FMEA), leveraging experience as a Designated Employer Representative (DER), Designated Person Ashore (DPA).

Conduct and administer regulatory audits for SOLAS, DNV, FMEA, certification & compliance.

Prepare vessels and facilities for USCG and ABS inspections, ensuring regulatory readiness.

Develop and Design Custom Marine Insurance Programs, Risk Assessment strategies, & Program Audits.
